Who is Local SEO Community for?

Local SEO Community is for anyone who wants to discuss and learn more about local SEO and Google My Business tips and strategies.

We welcome people who work in local SEO (agencies, freelancers), as well as small business owners, large business owners, and anyone in between.

Members consist of beginners who are just learning about local SEO, all the way to experts, who know almost everything about local SEO and Google My Business optimization.

What is local SEO, and how is it different from normal SEO?

Local SEO is the practice of increasing the search visibility of brick-and-mortar businesses.

For example, a restaurant doesn't need to worry about ranking globally for the search term "food".

Rather, that restaurant just wants to show up at the top of the map search results (AKA Map Pack) when people search "food" in their area.

Why should I join Local SEO Community?

If you want to learn more about local SEO and Google My Business in a friendly and helpful environment, then this community is for you!

In addition, members of Local SEO Community get access to exclusive discounts on local SEO tools (shown in the "Members-Only Discounts" section).

Is it free to join?

Yes 😊

Do I need to be active in the community?

You can participate as little or as much as you want (although we encourage you to be as active as possible!) Members receive a weekly email recapping the top posts from the community.

Why not just have a Facebook group for this?

1. Posts in Facebook groups cannot be found via Google search. With this community, posts are indexed by Google, so questions and answers can be found on Google by others who have the same questions.

2. Most Facebook groups are littered with spam, and require way too many hours a week just to block spammers.

3. Facebook ultimately owns everything in a Facebook group, and could decide to delete a group at any time. Hosting the community here gives much more control.

4. There are many people who want to learn about local SEO and Google My Business, but aren't on Facebook or have deleted Facebook.

Can I spam the community?

Please don't. You will be permanently removed if you do.
